RentKrub is a site for finding dormitories, apartments and rooms for rent in Thailand, in Thai, English and Chinese. Whether you want a room near a BTS or MRT station, a dorm near your university, or a room by the day while you look for something longer, this guide walks you through the search step by step: where to start, how to use the filters, how to read a listing and how to contact the owner. It describes the English pages of the site as they were on 03/11/2026.
Choose where to start
Think about the place you need to reach every day, then pick the page that matches it.
| Your daily destination | Start at | What the page offers |
|---|---|---|
| A BTS, MRT or other rail station | Rooms near rail stations | Stations grouped by line, each with Monthly and Daily links |
| A university, college or school | Rooms near universities | A list of institutions, each with Monthly and Daily links |
| The province you are moving to | Rooms by province | Provinces grouped by region |
| Your office or any other place | Search on map | Drop a pin and pick a radius of 1–5 km |
| A few nights only | Daily rooms | Short stays by province, near rail stations and near universities |
On the home page, the search box has the tabs Map, Rail, Universities, Province and Popular areas. Type a station or a university, or choose a province and a district, then pick a price range, monthly (0 – 3,500, 3,500 – 8,000 or more than 8,000 THB/month) or daily (0 – 500, 500 – 1,000 or more than 1,000 THB/day), and press Search.
The Language menu switches between Thai, English and Chinese and keeps you on the same page, so you can share a link with Thai friends or a landlord in their language. One thing to know if you do not read Thai: on the English pages, the names of stations, universities and provinces in the lists, and the line and region headings, are still written in Thai script. If that slows you down, start from the map instead.
Rooms near BTS and MRT stations, step by step
- Open Rooms near rail stations. Stations are grouped by line: the MRT Blue, Yellow, Purple and Pink Lines, the BTS Silom and Sukhumvit Lines, the Gold Line, the Airport Rail Link, and the Dark Red and Light Red Lines. You can also type in the page's search box.
- Next to your station, choose Monthly or Daily.
- The results page says how many listings were found ("Found … listings with monthly rates") and has Monthly and Daily tabs. Page numbers at the bottom ("Page 1 of …") take you through the rest of the list.
- Press View details on a card to open the listing.
Filters and cards
- Price range per month: enter the minimum and maximum you can pay.
- In-room amenities: such as air conditioning, a water heater or Wi-Fi in the room.
- Building amenities: such as CCTV, key-card security, car parking or a lift.
- Press Show results to apply the filters, or Clear filters to start again.
Each card shows the starting rent ("Rent from … THB/month"), the room size when the listing gives one, and the distance ("Distance … km"), which is enough for a first shortlist. Listings that also rent by the day carry a "Daily available" badge. On the same page, the "Near rail" and "Near universities" tags open the results for nearby stations and institutions, which helps if you could live near more than one station. Example: rooms near Siam. If your commute changes lines, see Bangkok Rail Interchange Stations.
Near a university, by province, by the day, or on the map
Near a university or school
Open Rooms near universities, which covers dormitories and apartments around universities, colleges and schools. Type in the search box or scroll the list, and make sure the name matches where you study, because some entries name a specific campus. Choose Monthly for a whole term, or Daily for a short visit such as viewing rooms or sitting an exam. The results pages have the same filters and cards as the station pages. Example: rooms near Chulalongkorn University. What to check besides distance: Dorms Near Universities in Bangkok.
By province
Rooms by province groups provinces by region. A province's results page adds a By district filter to the price and amenity filters, and its cards show when each listing was last updated. Example: rooms in Chiang Mai.
Daily rooms
For a few nights, for example a job interview or a gap before your lease starts, open Daily rooms, which lists short stays by province, near rail stations and near universities, or press the Daily tab on any results page. Before you book, read Daily vs Monthly Rooms in Thailand.
On the map
If your destination is not a station or a school, open Search on map. Search a place or press Use my current location, tap the map or drag the pin to the spot you care about, then choose the Rental type and a Radius of 1–5 km. On the English page the three Rental type buttons are labelled in Thai; in order, they mean all, monthly and daily.
Read the listing before you contact the owner
Listing pages have English labels, but the description itself may be in Thai: on a listing we opened, the "About this place" text was in Thai on the English page, so keep a translation app handy.
- Verification status. A listing that has not been verified shows "Not verified yet, please check before paying" under its name and address, with a link, "How to check before you pay". The Listing verification page explains that the Verified badge appears only on listings whose owner submitted proof of ownership or management and the RentKrub team checked it. An unverified listing is not necessarily untrustworthy, but check it yourself before you pay. More in The RentKrub Verified Badge.
- The Costs box lists rent, deposit, advance payment, water, electricity, other fees, phone and internet. A row without a figure says "Ask the owner", so note it as a question. How deposits work in Thailand: Rental Deposits in Thailand.
- The Room types table has the columns Room types, Layout, Size, Monthly, Daily, Short lease and Status. If the status says "Contact owner", ask whether a room is free; a price shown as "Ask" needs a question too.
- Amenities, location and reviews. Faded amenities are not available. The Nearby section lists what is close by, such as stations and roads, with distances, and has an "Open in Google Maps" button for the real route. Tenant reviews rate cleanliness, value for money, location, transport and service.
- Contact. Use Call now, Chat with owner or the Other contact options, such as an email address or a LINE ID on some listings. If someone contacts you through another channel and claims to be the same place, compare their details with the listing first, and press Report if a listing looks suspicious.
- Comparing. Press the scale button on a card, or Compare on a listing page, to pick up to 4 places, then open Compare properties from the menu.
Tips that save time and trouble
- Filter by price first, in the home-page search box or with the monthly price range on a results page, so you only open rooms you can afford.
- Check water and electricity in the Costs box before you book a viewing; if the rates are not stated, ask when you call.
- Contact the owner through the listing's own channels, and keep the listing link with the Copy link button.
- Never transfer money before you have seen the room. View it in person, ask for ID and ownership papers, sign a written contract and pay only into an account in the landlord's name. RentKrub never collects payments or deposits on behalf of a property. Red flags and where to report: Fake Landlord Scams in Thailand.
- Renting as a foreigner? Read TM30 in Thailand for Tenants before you move in.
